Synopsis

The university is an educational institution where students receive professional training; however, this is not its only objective. The university is a space where students acquire diverse knowledge, develop multiple skills and build various aspects of their personality.
In this sense, the university represents an area of great influence for the student, which is why their constant improvement is a highly relevant need. One way to contribute to this improvement is through tutoring programs, which are responsible for guiding the student in different areas of their life during their time at university.
Among the areas addressed in tutoring programs are the academic-professional, personal and social; that is, not only is it sought that the student develops their cognitive skills, but also their emotional and interpersonal skills, since all of them are important to achieve comprehensive growth.
It should be noted that social relationships and interpersonal skills are often not addressed with the relevant relevance; on the contrary, they are considered secondary issues. This position —although adopted by many university educational institutions— is definitely wrong, because as Roca (2014) rightly points out: “Most of our problems and satisfactions have to do with our interpersonal relationships. Therefore, any improvement in this very important ability will mean an increase in our well-being and our quality of life” (p. 9).
Based on this, the present study seeks to propose a tutoring program that allows the student to express their doubts and concerns without fear; also, to freely express their ideas, judgments, etc., and to enhance their academic level. In this way, a comprehensive education and a healthy emotional state will be achieved.
Now, taking into account today's globalized world and with it the new technological demands, it is important to consider the different types of classes that exist today. Although face-to-face classes are the most widespread, distance classes have gained great popularity today due to different factors such as time management, the dynamism of the classes, etc. For this reason, the improvement proposals that are put forward must also consider this area, and of course, they must seek to make the most of technological resources for the benefit of students.
This study uses the Moodle platform, which allows not only the creation of dynamic virtual classes, but also the adaptation of the teacher's different methodologies to each group of students; it also creates sessions that strengthen interpersonal activities among all participants. The objective of this program is to accompany the student in their learning process (academic, personal, emotional and social), so that comprehensive educational growth is achieved.
