Health status is one of the most important factors influencing the QOL of college students. A good state of physical and mental health allows students to participate fully in their academic, social and personal activities, contributing to their general well-being. However, several studies have found that college students have a significant prevalence of health problems, such as stress, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders, which can negatively affect their QOL.
In the case of Peru, research on QOL related to the health status of university students has gained relevance in recent years. Various studies have reported that Peruvian university students present moderate levels of QOL, with significant differences depending on variables such as the major they study, sex, origin and socioeconomic conditions.

It is important to highlight that QOL is not a static state, but is constantly changing and is influenced by various factors. In this sense, understanding the QOL of university students in a multidimensional context and in relation to their health status allows us to identify the specific needs of this population group and develop strategies and public policies to improve their well-being and QOL. Considering the above, the objective of this research is to determine the relationship between QOL and the health status of the students of the “Daniel Alcides Carrión” University, Tarma branch, in Peru.
