Synopsis

The existence of workplace accidents shows that companies must develop management focused on treating any problem that puts the health of their staff at risk; This management tends to be called security management. Through this management, the importance of people's lives and respect for the right to life is revealed. Precisely, security is not only perceived as a citizen good related to the quality of life and the integral well-being of societies, but also as a basic right of every person related to freedom and protection against risks. Being a right of humanity, there is no excuse that prevents the treatment of security within business affairs.
In the field of construction, employees are exposed, in various situations, to high levels of risk, which is why companies dedicated to construction projects are required to raise awareness, take measures to prevent these risks and provide a safe environment. safe and appropriate for your employees. In this way, construction companies, with safety management, will improve their levels of safety, operability and competence.
The most frequent injuries to construction workers are linked to physical risks caused by temperature, noise from work equipment or tools, and ultraviolet radiation. These risks can cause diseases such as chronic bursitis, chronic shoulder diseases, epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, dermatitis, allergies and bronchial problems. However, workers in this sector also face employment instability, temporary contracts or informal hiring. The risks that affect construction workers are diverse, so safety management must be constantly improved in order to reduce accidents and provide new forms of response against new occupational risks in the sector.
For all the above reasons, this book presents in-depth information on safety management systems, the prevention of occupational risks and the risks present in construction work. Likewise, the main characteristics of these topics and the level of relationship that exists between them are addressed.
